Accessibility
Joubert France – POLAIRE, headquartered at 585 rue Actisère, 38570 LE CHEYLAS, is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Article 47 of Law No. 2005-102 of February 11, 2005, and to the obligations applicable to e-commerce services arising from Directive (EU) 2019/882 (“European Accessibility Act”), which has been transposed into French law and applies to services provided as of June 28, 2025. To this end, Polaire is implementing the following strategy and actions:
This accessibility statement applies to the website: https://www.polaire.eu
Compliance Status
The Polaire website is partially compliant with the General Framework for Improving Accessibility (RGAA), version 4.1, due to the non-conformities and exceptions listed below.
This statement applies to the public website. The customer area—dashboard, orders, returns, and after-sales service requests—is not covered by the compliance rate stated below. It has undergone a separate audit, the findings of which are included in the action plan, and its inclusion in the declared scope will be reviewed during the follow-up audit.
Test Results
The compliance audit conducted by Periscope on September 10, 11, and 14 September 2026 reveals that 63.3% of the RGAA Version 4.1 criteria are met (50 compliant criteria out of 79 applicable) within the scope of the public website.
No criteria were left untested: the compliance rate is not subject to a range; it is the measured rate for the service. Five verification campaigns tested it without changing a single status: NVDA acceptance testing, keyboard acceptance testing in Firefox, an audit of the consent banner, a PAC check of PDFs, and an audit of the customer portal confirmed or further detailed previously identified non-conformities.
Inaccessible Content
Non-conformities
The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons (RGAA 4.1 criteria numbers in parentheses):
- Images — the icons for accepted payment methods in the footer lack alternative text; product ratings (stars) are not read aloud by screen readers (1.1). Some decorative icons are not ignored by assistive technologies (1.2).
- Colors — the active state of the grid/list display toggle in the catalog is indicated only by color, and a rejected field in the contact form is indicated only by a red border, with no text (3.1); several secondary text elements (promotional prices, secondary prices including/excluding tax, the “In Stock” label, error messages, field labels, breadcrumb trails, inactive tabs) do not meet the minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1, nor does the white text in the welcome banner superimposed on the video and background photographs (3.2). The outlines of checkboxes, radio buttons, and certain input fields do not meet the 3:1 ratio (3.3).
- Scripts — the image viewer and video player on the product detail page, as well as the “My Cart” panel present on all pages, do not support keyboard focus (no focus trap, no focus return upon closing); the tabs on the product detail page cannot be navigated using the arrow keys; sorting the catalog triggers navigation as soon as the value changes; status information is not announced, or is announced excessively or in an incomprehensible manner: adding an item to the cart does not result in any confirmation, removing an item from the cart is not indicated; the amounts in the summary are announced without the labels they correspond to; the successful submission of the contact form is not announced; and searching for records causes the entire list of results to be read aloud with each character entered; the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer is labeled and clickable but does not open anything (7.1, 7.3, 7.4, 7.5).
- Required Elements — The “Access My Reseller Account” button on the home page is invalidly coded and does not work (8.2); The 404 error page is written in English without any indication that the language has changed (8.7).
- Structure — the Shopping Cart, Log In, Contact Us, and Find a Reseller pages lack a level 1 heading (9.1); the search results for records form a list of two items regardless of the number of documents (9.3); customer reviews are not marked up as quotes (9.4).
- Presentation — focus indicators are barely visible on input fields, and the button to submit the record search receives focus within a one-pixel square (10.7); on a 320-px-wide screen (or at 400% zoom), the shopping cart contents are cut off—the “Remove” and “Apply” buttons are partially off-screen, amounts are truncated—and the pagination for the catalog, FAQs, and search results is inaccessible beyond the first few pages, while navigation between legal pages scrolls horizontally without a visible scrollbar (10.11); when text spacing is increased, the text on the home page’s offer cards overlaps the illustration (10.12).
- Forms — the “quantity” field on the product page has no label (11.1); on the contact form, the summary of input errors is not displayed, and correction suggestions are not accessible; in the checkout process, no message indicates why a field is rejected; when creating an account, the password entry rules are not associated with the field and are therefore not read by assistive technologies (11.10, 11.11).
- Navigation — there are no skip links to directly access the main content (12.7); the tab order is inconsistent when opening the viewers and the shopping cart panel, when launching the full-screen video, and when the contact form rejects an entry—the reading position then returns to the top of the page (12.8).
- Multimedia — the editing tutorial videos, which contain no spoken dialogue, are not accompanied by a text transcript describing the steps or by an audio description (4.1, 4.5).
- Navigation — The site map does not accurately reflect the site’s architecture: several pages listed in the menus are missing from the map (12.3).
- Accessibility — links that open in a new window (downloadable documents, social media, terms and conditions) do not indicate this (13.2); none of the downloadable PDF documents—product descriptions, labels, safety data sheets, and certificates—is accessible: the compliance check conducted on a sample covering the site’s four document categories failed for all evaluated files, and no accessible alternative versions are provided alongside the downloads (13.3, 13.4); the carousel on the home page scrolls automatically without a stop button (13.8).
Content outside the scope of this statement
- The customer area (dashboard, orders, returns, customer service requests). It is subject to accessibility requirements—it is neither third-party content nor an exemption—but it falls outside the scope of this statement. It was audited on September 14, 2026, and its seventeen findings are listed in the action plan. A separate statement, or an extension of this one, must be submitted for the follow-up audit.
Content Not Subject to Accessibility Requirements
- Embedded YouTube video player (third-party component). The videos themselves, produced by Polaire, remain subject to the accessibility requirements (transcripts and captions for those containing speech) and are included in the non-conformities listed above.
- Payment modules provided by payment service providers
- SystemPay / PayPal
The cookie consent manager (Cookiebot) is not listed here: although provided by a third party, it is purchased and configured by Polaire, and is therefore subject to the accessibility requirements. It has not yet been audited: the attempt on September 14, 2026, determined that it is currently not injected into any test environment, as its scripts were removed from the theme in favor of injection via the tag manager. It falls outside the scope of this statement, and its audit is included in the action plan once the injection chain is restored.
Preparation of This Accessibility Statement
This statement was prepared on September 22, 2026.
Technologies used to build the site
HTML5, CSS (SCSS, Bootstrap 5), JavaScript (Web Components), PHP / WordPress, ACF Pro, Gravity Forms, WPML, WP Rocket.
Test Environment
Tests were conducted using the following configurations:
- Firefox 155.0.1 + NVDA 2026.2 on Windows, a protocol of 69 numbered tests, on September 11, 2026, on pages 1 through 8 below and on the “Notices and Certificates” page.
- Firefox 155.0.1 on Windows, keyboard-only navigation, a protocol of 45 numbered tests, on September 14, 2026, on pages 1 through 8 below, the FAQ, the site map, and the “Notices and Certificates” page.
- Chromium 153.0.8010.36 driven by Playwright: keyboard navigation, 320- and 640-pixel windows, text spacing according to WCAG guidelines, contrast ratios calculated based on the rendered composite colors, and measurement of text contrast on media via pixel sampling.
- 200% and 400% zoom levels verified by a tester.
- PAC 2024 (PDF Accessibility Checker) for PDF/UA compliance testing of a stratified sample of documents.
Tools for evaluating accessibility
Analysis of the source code and the rendered DOM, Chromium driven by Playwright (keyboard, viewport, computed styles), calculation of contrast ratios (WCAG formula), wp-cli, PyMuPDF (PDF tagging), reading YouTube subtitle tracks, NVDA and its speech viewer, PAC 2024 (PDF Accessibility Checker, PDF/UA-1 compliance check).
Website pages that underwent compliance verification
Eight pages covering the purchase journey, selected using Polaire, tested for code compliance, in a browser, with a screen reader, and via keyboard navigation:
- Home —
/ - Product Page —
/produit/barre-de-toit-essentiel-acier-ea/ - Category Page (Hub) —
/sc-67/ - Catalog —
/catalogue/ - Shopping Cart —
/panier/ - Checkout —
/paiement/ - Log In and Create an Account —
/se-connecter/ - Contact Us —
/nous-contacter/
Ten pages were then added, including the pages required by the RGAA for all samples. They were checked for code and HTML, without keyboard testing:
- Legal Notice —
/mentions-legales/ - Privacy Policy —
/declaration-confidentialite/ - Terms and Conditions for Business Customers —
/cgv-professionnel/ - FAQ, Help Page —
/faq/ - Site Map —
/plan-du-site/ - Search Results —
/?s=chaine+a+neige - Instructions and Certificates —
/notices-certificats/ - Find a Reseller —
/revendeurs/ - Blog Post —
/conseils/comment-choisir-ses-chaines-a-neige-selon-son-vehicule/ - Page Not Found, Error 404 — any non-existent URL
The common template used across all pages—including the header, footer, and shopping cart panel—has been audited once and for all.
Four pages are missing from this sample and must be included in the next audit: the “Accessibility” page itself, which will only exist upon publication of this statement; the order confirmation page; a customer account page, the scope of which remains to be determined; and the page /politique-cookies/, which contains the site’s only data table and therefore affects the basis for calculating the rate. Auditing this page requires first restoring the consent manager, which is missing from the test environments.
