Multi-Year Accessibility Plan 2026–2028
1. Purpose
As of June 28, 2025, e-commerce services must comply with the accessibility requirements set forth in Directive (EU) 2019/882, known as the European Accessibility Act, which was transposed into French law by Order No. 2023-859 of September 6, 2023, and Decree No. 2023-931 of October 9, 2023.
Polaire designs and distributes automotive equipment and sells it online to consumers, professionals, and resellers. This plan outlines what the company commits to doing to make this service accessible, in what order, and according to what timeline. It is intentionally brief: the measures are refined year by year in the annual action plans as audit findings are addressed.
2. Scope
| Service | Current Situation | 2028 Goal |
| Public e-commerce site | Partially compliant; 63.3% of RGAA 4.1 criteria met (September 2026 audit, 18 pages) | Compliance targeted, declaration up to date |
| Customer Area | Audited in September 2026; outside the declared scope at this stage | Corrected; declared scope re-examined |
| Partner microsites | Unaudited, built on the same theme | Covered by corrections to the common theme, to be reviewed in 2027 |
| Downloadable documents (instructions, labels, certificates) | No documents available at this time | New documents will be made available as soon as they are produced; the collection will be updated according to the action plan |
| Tutorial videos | No transcripts | Transcripts for all new content; backlog will be addressed |
3. Commitments
- Do no harm. No new content published online introduces any new non-compliance with RGAA Level A and AA criteria.
- Correct at the source. Issues are addressed in the theme and shared components so that every correction benefits all pages.
- Check in advance. Layouts are reviewed before integration: contrast, focus states, heading hierarchy, and media alternatives.
- Publish and maintain. The accessibility statement, this diagram, and the current action plan are published on the website and updated at least once a year.
- Respond to users. A dedicated reporting channel is available, and every report receives a response.
4. Organization
| Role | Reporting Line | Responsibilities |
| Accessibility Coordinator | Polaire, E-commerce Department | Leads the initiative, sets priorities, approves the accessibility statement, and responds to reports |
| Technical Lead | Periscope, Front-End Project Lead | Applies the rules within the theme, reviews deliverables, and keeps the issue reports up to date |
| Editorial Contributors | Polaire Editorial Team | Image alternatives, heading structure, link text, transcripts |
Roles are designated by their function, not by the name of the person holding them. The public should contact the dedicated email address listed in the accessibility statement.
Third-party service providers and component publishers (forms, translation, consent management, payment) are contractually obligated to ensure the compliance of the content they provide.
5. Accessibility in Projects
| Phase | Measure |
| Design | Mockup review: contrast, focus, headings, alternative text, behavior of dynamic components |
| Development | Rules defined in the project guidelines: native modal components, shared ad regions, focus never removed without replacement, skip link, single Level 1 heading |
| Acceptance Testing | Template-based grid: keyboard navigation, screen reader support, 200% zoom, 320-px display |
| Content | Guidelines for contributors: alternatives, headings, links, transcripts, documents |
| Procurement | Accessibility requirements for selecting extensions and service providers |
6. Timeline
| Deadline | Action |
| December 2026 | Priority corrections delivered, rate recalculated, declaration updated |
| March 2027 | Follow-up audit after remaining corrections, expanded sample |
| September 2027 | Review of microsites and the customer portal, 2027–2028 action plan |
| September 2028 | Comprehensive compliance audit, statement, and 2028–2029 action plan |
| Ongoing | Automated checks with each update, review of reports, and update of the declaration after each corrective action |
7. User Feedback
A dedicated email address and contact form are listed in the accessibility statement. Each report is logged, categorized, and followed up with a response within the timeframe specified in the statement, including, if necessary, the provision of the content in an alternative format. Reports are reviewed periodically and inform the next action plan.
8. Training
Individuals who design, develop, or contribute content to the website receive training in digital accessibility: the technical team and designers during the 2026–2027 fiscal year; editorial contributors on publishing guidelines; and an annual refresher for all staff.
9. Roadmap
| Fiscal Year | Goals |
| 2026–2027 | Major and blocking issues on the public website corrected, statement published, automated monitoring in place |
| 2027–2028 | Remaining issues and customer portal corrected; microsites verified; document management policy in place |
| 2028–2029 | Targeted compliance on the public website and customer portal, compliance audit, up-to-date declaration |
Indicators tracked annually: compliance rate, number of open and resolved non-compliances, number and processing time of reports, percentage of transcribed videos, percentage of accessible documents.
